Assistant Director (Data Science)

Role Overview

You will oversee a compact team dedicated to applying data science methods to advance the Ministry of Defence Singapore's strategic communications efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the derivation of data-driven insights and formulate recommendations.
• Analyze MINDEF/SAF audiences and defence-related topics incorporating social science perspectives.
• Direct the strategic communications planning, policies, and execution across public relations, internal communication, and community outreach.
• Oversee the creation and upkeep of a communications data architecture to facilitate effective analysis and decision-making.
• Clarify complex data and technical results to stakeholders involved in strategic communications.
• Comprehend organizational factors and the nuances in the information ecosystem relevant to MINDEF/SAF.

Candidate Profile

• Academic background in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Psychometrics, Operations Research, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of six years’ experience in data science, analytics, or communications roles, with no less than two years in a leadership or supervisory position.
• Proficient technical knowledge including data analysis techniques, data management, programming languages, and visualization tools.
• Strong aptitude for analytical thinking and problem resolution.
• Outstanding communication capabilities, including presentation skills.
