Role Overview
The Area Relief Officer position involves working across multiple court and tribunal locations within the Doncaster area. This role demands adaptability and mobility to meet the varying operational demands of sites, with shifts primarily on weekdays during daytime hours. You will play a key part in ensuring a safe and secure environment by managing access controls, monitoring activities, and responding efficiently to any incidents.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide flexible coverage for several courts and tribunal facilities within a set geographic radius.
- Deliver professional, courteous, and customer-oriented service to all individuals entering the premises.
- Manage building access protocols diligently, ensuring compliance with security standards at all times.
- Operate relevant security devices including CCTV systems, x-ray scanners, and handheld metal detectors.
- Perform searches following established site procedures to maintain safety.
- Conduct patrols in both public and restricted areas while maintaining consistent communication with control centers.
- React swiftly and appropriately to alarms, security incidents, and potential threats.
- Document and report all security-related occurrences accurately.
- Facilitate the secure movement of people within the buildings to maintain order and safety.
- Adhere to professional standards and legal compliance throughout all duties.
Candidate Requirements
- Legal authorization to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced security clearances including DBS and BS7858.
- Possession of a valid SIA Licence coupled with relevant experience in security roles.
- Hold a full UK driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
- Dependable, attentive to detail, and professional demeanor.
- Capability to operate across multiple locations and adjust to shifting priorities.
- Strong knowledge of security practices and health & safety regulations.
- Calm and effective response to challenging or emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within public sector or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with security technology such as CCTV and screening equipment.

Work Schedule
