As a Mechanical Apprentice working directly under the guidance of a qualified Cummins Technician, you will acquire hands-on skills related to diagnosing and repairing Cummins engines and associated products.

What You Will Gain

• Earn a wage while you undertake your apprenticeship.
• A mechanical starter toolkit will be issued when you begin.
• Achieve a Level 4 Trade Qualification in Heavy Automotive Engineering, Road Transport.
• Attend off-the-job training through a partner training institution.
• Receive structured on-the-job training supervised by certified technicians and supervisors.
• Experience working with a diverse range of world-class Cummins engine products.
• Enhance your technical knowledge by engaging in specialized engine product training with Cummins Technical Trainers throughout your apprenticeship.

Candidate Profile

• A positive mindset combined with eagerness and willingness to learn.
• Genuine interest and enthusiasm for Cummins products and the engineering industry.
• Strong communication abilities and capability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Proficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills.
• Flexibility to work regionally and rotate through multiple departments to gain experience across automotive, industrial, marine, and mining engine sectors during the apprenticeship.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Preferably completed Year 13 or an equivalent level of education.
• Commitment to workplace safety and personal wellbeing as a foundation for a successful career at Cummins.
