Role Overview
Join AECOM as the ANZ Tunnelling Lead and influence the future direction of tunnelling and underground infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand. This leadership role offers the chance to contribute to significant transport and energy transition programs while building and guiding a high-performing tunnelling team. The position embraces a forward-thinking approach to diverse underground projects from metro systems to hydroelectric and utility tunnels.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer growth and lead strategic tunnelling pursuits within AECOM's ANZ region.
- Offer technical guidance and leadership on complex tunnelling infrastructure projects.
- Develop and mentor future tunnelling professionals to enhance team capabilities.
- Foster strong connections with clients, contractors, and industry leaders to expand project opportunities.
- Leverage AECOM’s global network to influence major infrastructure initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A tertiary degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in major tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects within Australia.
- Expertise in various tunnelling methods including TBM, mined tunnels, shafts, trenchless technology, caverns, hydro works, or other complex underground constructions.
- Established relationships with industry stakeholders, clients, and contractors.
- A reputation for excellence in engineering judgment and technical authority.
- Proven capability to win projects and successfully deliver them.
- Passion and commitment to developing team members and enhancing organizational capability.
- Active participation in professional and industry organizations.
- A leadership approach that fosters trust, collaboration, and confidence.
