About the Role

The position of Purchasing Agent at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts involves managing procurement processes and maintaining quality assurance standards for food and supplies at the Ummahat Island 1 location in the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. This role requires diligent coordination of stock calculations, order placements, and record-keeping to support smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate inventory needs related to food stocks, placing orders, and managing associated costs.
  • Maintain clear and organized records to ensure proper filing and storage of all reports and invoices.
  • Process invoices using computer software, ensuring accurate entry and documentation.
  • Reject damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items upon receipt.
  • Complete requisition forms for necessary stock and provisions.
  • Notify management or supervisors when stock levels fall below acceptable thresholds.
  • Verify received inventory and maintain detailed tracking reports and records.
  • Reconcile transport invoices and receipt reports to confirm count accuracy.
  • Receive, unload, and process incoming deliveries efficiently.
  • Address supplier delivery issues and supervise the return process as needed.
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines and comply with handling policies across all food-related areas.
  • Maintain adequate PAR levels for all food products to ensure proper stock availability.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management; participate in safety training and obtain necessary certifications.
  • Follow all company safety policies, report maintenance or safety concerns promptly, and complete all required safety training.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance with appropriate uniforms.
  • Protect company confidentiality and assets.
  • Support and collaborate respectfully with team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Meet quality assurance standards consistently.
  • Perform physical activities such as lifting, moving, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds without assistance; stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Visually inspect and verify information across multiple formats and equipment.
  • Use computers and POS systems to input and retrieve work-related information.
  • Perform a range of physical movements including reaching overhead, bending, twisting, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (General Educational Development certificate).
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in procurement or related fields.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No specific licenses or certifications necessary.
