This internship offers the opportunity to contribute as a Chemistry Subject Matter Expert by developing advanced, text-based chemistry assessments at PhD level. The work entails focusing on intricate topics like quantum chemistry, sophisticated organic synthesis and higher-level thermodynamics, represented primarily through comprehensive text and data tables.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate complex, text-only chemistry tests covering specialized subjects such as quantum chemistry, advanced organic processes, and thermodynamic principles.
- Implement standardized chemical text notation including SMILES, InChI, IUPAC nomenclature, and text-based logic to precisely represent molecules and reaction mechanisms without using images or diagrams.
- Develop rigorous scoring criteria that are machine-readable, ensuring every question and corresponding answer adheres to a structured format to facilitate automated assessment and validation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be able to work remotely and be available between August 7, 2026, and September 11, 2026.
- Applicants should be able to commit to a three-month internship duration.
- Suitable applicants include PhD scholars, postdoctoral researchers, or select M.Sc graduates from prestigious Indian research institutes such as IITs, IISc, and IISERs, with an openness to talented women re-entering academia.
Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly stipend ranging between INR 7,000 to INR 20,000, composed of fixed pay (INR 5,000-10,000) plus incentives (INR 2,000-10,000).
