About the Role
Join the Waste Business team at Cairns Regional Council as a Waste Contracts Officer, where you will be instrumental in delivering essential waste and resource recovery services effectively to the community. In this full-time permanent position based at 158A Martyn Street, Cairns, you will serve as a key liaison among customers, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring professional issue resolution and adherence to service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Your everyday duties will include handling customer inquiries, supporting contract administration, assisting with project delivery, preparing reports, and enhancing service outcomes through collaborative efforts within the team. This role involves a combination of customer service, contract monitoring and evaluation, and project support tailored to improve operational efficiency.
Required Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service-focused environment.
- Competence in contract administration, including performance monitoring and reporting.
- Valid current driver's license.
- Strong administrative capabilities with proficiency in relevant technologies.
- Experience in providing administrative and project support with attention to budget management.
- Excellent organizational skills capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines effectively.
- Advanced problem-solving aptitude for resolving customer issues.
- Quick learner of council operations and service functions.
- Commitment to quality outcomes, ongoing improvement, and delivering customer excellence.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and use sound professional judgment.
