Role Overview
The Vice President of Marketing is a senior leader on the Revenue team and is accountable for brand awareness, demand generation, and revenue growth. Reporting to the CRO, this person owns the marketing function end to end, including strategy, messaging, team leadership, and execution. It is a chance to build a high-impact marketing engine at a company with real market traction and a mission that matters.
What You Will Drive
Marketing strategy
- Create a marketing plan that directly supports growth by connecting brand positioning, buyer education, and pipeline creation into one measurable system.
- Establish a clear and consistent market voice that resonates with district leaders and differentiates Branching Minds from competitors across channels and audiences.
- Keep Sales, Customer Success, and Product aligned on messaging so the whole company tells a unified story with confidence.
- Work with Revenue Operations to build a strong data and analytics foundation, monitor performance against revenue targets, and shift investment quickly when results change.
- Continuously improve the channel mix to raise customer lifetime value and lower acquisition cost, using a disciplined test-and-learn approach for new investments.
- Track competitor activity, policy changes, and buyer trends so Branching Minds helps shape the conversation in the MTSS space rather than reacting to it.
- Use research, data, and feedback from the field to better understand buyer behavior and build campaigns and content that genuinely connect with district leaders.
Demand generation
- Build a dependable pipeline engine that delivers consistent, high-quality leads through multi-channel campaigns aimed at the right buyers at the right time.
- Create a strong working relationship with Sales by aligning on lead quality, shared pipeline goals, and feedback loops that improve both teams' performance.
- Develop programs that grow revenue from current customers through cross-sell and expansion opportunities.
- Support the revenue team with enablement content, tools, and programs that help shorten sales cycles and improve conversion.
- Ensure every ad, email, event, and conversation reflects the same brand story and builds trust over time.
- Design owned-event experiences that build community, showcase outcomes, and contribute real pipeline.
Partner and customer marketing
- Strengthen relationships with partners and districts through marketing initiatives that create value, reinforce impact, and support renewals.
- Launch products and features effectively by partnering with Sales, CS, Finance, Product, and Learning Science on go-to-market plans that drive adoption and long-term usage.
- Turn happy customers into advocates by building a program that elevates district champions as trusted voices for Branching Minds.
- Position Branching Minds as a leading authority on MTSS through thought leadership, research, and field-shaping content.
Team leadership and operations
- Build a high-performing marketing team made up of creative, data-informed people who are motivated by the mission and capable of growing into leaders.
- Use HubSpot effectively as a strategic advantage by creating the structure, workflows, and training needed for clean data and strong sales-marketing operations.
- Improve the company website so it becomes a top-performing demand channel through better conversion, content, and user experience.
- Bring order to team operations with clear prioritization, an organized asset pipeline, and a communication rhythm that keeps work moving without confusion.
- Set a strong standard for brand consistency across Sales, Professional Services, RFPs, and other functions so the company presents one unified identity.
- Contribute to broader company decisions as part of the Revenue leadership team, helping shape culture and organizational design beyond marketing alone.

- Strong working knowledge of marketing automation, with HubSpot preferred, and a data-led approach to improving campaign performance.
- Experience using channels such as paid search, event marketing, and SEO to drive pipeline.
- Interest in AI and a forward-looking mindset toward tools that improve speed and effectiveness.
- At least 8 years of B2B marketing experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role; background in EdTech or SaaS is strongly preferred.

Interview Process
- 45-minute initial interview with the Chief Revenue Officer.
- Panel interviews with 3-4 key stakeholders, totaling about 3-4 hours across multiple conversations.
- 90-minute final interview with the Chief Revenue Officer and executive leadership.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a fully remote role. The annual base salary range is $190,000 to $210,000, depending on experience, expertise, skills, and geographic location. In addition, the role is eligible for an annual bonus of up to 20% of base salary.
