Job description

About the Role

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is a globally renowned IT services and consulting organization, delivering business, technology, and engineering solutions for over five decades. With a presence in 53 countries and a workforce exceeding 600,000 skilled professionals, TCS is part of the Tata Group, India's largest multinational conglomerate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting of voice network issues including SIP call failures, call drops, PRI/E1 link problems, SBC malfunctions, and softswitch or IMS signaling failures.
  • Analyze SIP call flows and RTP media path concerns like latency, jitter, and packet loss to isolate faults in domains such as core voice network, customer equipment, carrier interconnect, and access networks.
  • Manage and resolve high-priority incidents escalated by Level 1 teams within target restoration times, leading troubleshooting efforts during major outages.
  • Utilize deep knowledge of SIP, RTP, RTCP, ISDN PRI signaling, and VoIP codecs to investigate registration problems, routing errors, and codec negotiation mismatches.
  • Perform root cause analysis for issues like call drop spikes, repeated congestion, and intermittent quality degradation, identifying causes such as network congestion, misconfigurations, routing errors, or carrier faults, followed by proposing corrective actions.
  • Support change management activities by validating and implementing voice routing, SIP trunk configurations, PRI provisioning, and upgrades to softswitches or SBCs, including impact assessments and rollback planning.
  • Coordinate effectively with hardware vendors (Cisco, Avaya, Ribbon, Audiocodes) and telecommunication carriers for escalations and issue resolution.
  • Monitor voice performance metrics such as call success rates and quality KPIs, and suggest enhancements including QoS optimization, bandwidth tuning, and routing improvements.
  • Provide technical mentorship to Level 1 teams, validate their troubleshooting processes, and contribute to updating Standard Operating Procedures, knowledge bases, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Lead incident management for critical service outages by coordinating communication among network teams, carriers, and enterprise customers, ensuring timely updates and restoration.

Technical Skills Required

  • In-depth expertise in voice protocols including VoIP, SIP, RTP, RTCP, and ISDN PRI signaling.
  • Strong understanding of IP telephony, call control systems, and IMS or softswitch architectures.
  • Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing principles, QoS for voice prioritization, and MPLS/internet transport effects on voice.
  • Familiarity with network management and element management systems (NMS/EMS), packet capture tools such as Wireshark, command-line interface troubleshooting, and ticketing platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).

Additional Information

The position is full time and based onsite in Doha, Qatar. Candidates will be expected to meet defined targets for incident resolution and contribute actively to both day-to-day operations and major incident management.

Application Deadline

Applications will be accepted until September 20, 2026.
