Role Summary
The Visual Art Teacher will cultivate creativity among students through diverse visual art disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and other artistic media. The role includes preparing students for exhibitions, cultural programs, and competitions while supporting their overall artistic and personal development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruct students in various visual art techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art aligned with the curriculum.
- Create and implement lesson plans encouraging creativity, skill enhancement, and artistic expression.
- Arrange and oversee school art exhibitions and shows to highlight students' artwork.
- Evaluate student progress and deliver constructive insights to foster artistic improvement.
- Work collaboratively with other staff to weave visual arts into cross-disciplinary projects.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and motivating art studio atmosphere.
- Keep current with emerging trends and methods in visual arts and integrate these into teaching practices.
- Encourage teamwork and community spirit through collaborative art projects.
- Cultivate an inclusive and positive classroom environment promoting artistic exploration.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fine Arts or a related discipline.
- Documented experience as a Visual Art Teacher within schools or educational setups.
- Competence in multiple visual art forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students with varied artistic backgrounds and skillsets.
- Knowledge of both historical and contemporary art developments.
- Experience organizing art exhibitions and coordinating art-related events.
