Job description

Role Overview

Seeking a driven and imaginative Video Editor Intern to craft compelling YouTube content aligned with the Uncharted Outdoorswomen brand. Collaborate closely with the founder to produce 2 to 4 videos monthly, each ranging from 10 to 20 minutes, from initial rough cuts to polished final exports.

Responsibilities

  • Transform raw footage into polished, engaging YouTube videos and short clips.
  • Incorporate music, captions, lower-thirds, and basic graphics conforming to brand aesthetics.
  • Ensure final edits reflect the channel’s clean, authentic style, avoiding overproduction.
  • Adhere to agreed deadlines for video delivery.
  • Contribute creatively to storytelling flow and video pacing.

Candidate Profile

  • Proficient in video editing software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalents.
  • Strong storytelling instincts and a keen sense of pacing.
  • Dependable communicator with solid time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Passionate about outdoor activities like hiking, camping, backpacking, or adventure sports; this enthusiasm is essential.
  • Submission of a portfolio or reel is required; student work is acceptable.

What You Will Gain

  • Opportunity to earn college credit with coordination from your educational institution.
  • Hands-on experience creating content on an active YouTube channel.
  • Portfolio-building work credited under your name.
  • Direct mentorship and collaboration with the company founder.
  • Flexible schedule with remote work capability.
  • Prospect of transitioning into a paid role as the internship progresses.

Additional Information

The internship is unpaid but offers valuable real-world experience and portfolio development. Candidates should be ready to commit approximately 5–8 hours weekly, with the start date flexible and open to rolling applications.

Application Instructions

Applicants should send the following to the provided email address:

  • A concise personal introduction explaining interest in the role.
  • A portfolio link, social media profiles relevant to editing, or five sample video edits.
