Job Overview

Obeikan Glass Company is looking for a skilled Tweel Operator to become part of our Float Glass Production team situated in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The main role involves controlling and supervising the tweel and associated equipment to maintain a steady molten glass flow and uphold critical production parameters, thereby ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of the manufacturing process.

Key Job Duties

• Operate the Tweel and Top Rolls machinery to sustain stable molten glass flow within the tin bath continuously.
• Maintain target working end temperature, tin bath temperature, and other process parameters via the Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Perform routine on-site inspections and alert management to any equipment faults or irregularities in the process.
• Collaborate closely with teams handling Furnace, Tin Bath, Lehr, Quality, and Maintenance to maximize product quality and output yield.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, quality, and environmental policies during production operations.
• Accurately log operational data to ensure seamless shift transitions.
• Assist with diagnosis and resolution of process or equipment related issues as they arise.
• Uphold maintenance of housekeeping standards through 5S practices and actively engage in continuous improvement efforts including Kaizen events and Root Cause Analysis.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of experience working as a Tweel Operator or in a comparable role within a float glass manufacturing setting.

• Deep understanding of float glass production processes and equipment operations.
• Proficiency in the use and monitoring of Tweel and Top Roll machinery.
• Experienced in Distributed Control System (DCS) operation and process parameter monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving abilities focused on process troubleshooting.
• Skillful in team collaboration and cross-functional communication.
• Competent in reporting and communication with stakeholders.
• Familiar with 5S methodology, Kaizen principles, and ongoing continuous improvement practices.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure within a manufacturing environment.
