Summary
The Troubleshooter is responsible for attending and resolving all breakdowns and callbacks on an assigned route, managing at least 150 units under maintenance within their jurisdiction. In addition to maintenance duties, the role includes training and supporting technicians to enhance team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all company safety and compliance regulations.
- Receive, utilize, and properly maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Receive, use, and upkeep all necessary tools.
- Perform corrective maintenance tasks including repairs and replacement of spare parts as needed.
- Analyze breakdowns, design and implement action plans to minimize entrapments, breakdowns, and callbacks on the route.
- Assess and provide training to the maintenance team members accordingly.
- Identify frequently problematic units (2/7 or 3/30 breakdown cases), develop corrective strategies or delegate technicians to apply these plans to reduce repeated failures.
- Conduct inspections for new unit takeovers and quality control checks on third-party equipment.
- Assign service technicians to appropriate job sites for planned preventive maintenance (PPM), repairs, and callbacks.
- Complete and submit checklists and reports related to activities undertaken.
- Perform safety and quality inspections of equipment as required.
- Report any abnormalities found to the Service Engineer, Service Manager, or other management personnel.
- Participate in committee meetings.
- Coordinate with the ITS department and Project Management Team to establish proactive breakdown reduction strategies.
- Liaise with vendors for fabrication or outsourcing needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Mechanical or Electrical Diploma.
- Minimum of six years' experience in roles such as Maintenance Supervisor, Troubleshooter, or Technician-3, preferably with a background in elevator and escalator preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Strong decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in English along with Tagalog and Hindi or Urdu languages.
