Role Overview
As a Transport Administrator at our Milton Keynes depot, you will coordinate daily transport operations by allocating vehicles and managing routing to ensure top-tier service delivery. The role is pivotal in maintaining health and safety standards while ensuring compliance with environmental and operating licence regulations.
Working Hours
This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimise vehicle routing and utilisation to deliver outstanding service to customers.
- Manage driver schedules and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance.
- Conduct vehicle inspections, oversee safety protocols, and monitor maintenance activities.
- Handle administrative duties including payroll, timesheets, tachograph records, and detailed reporting.
- Utilise depot data analysis to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Engage with employees and contribute to improvement initiatives beyond routine clerical tasks.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with the local geographical area.
- Strong planning capabilities to prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Customer-centric attitude, capable of supporting a diverse range of clients.
- Proficient in business software, particularly Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on Excel.
- Previous experience in administrative roles, call management, or high-pressure environments is advantageous.
