Translator / Interpreter

Overview

NTU International is preparing a proposal for the project titled “Communication outreach and engagement on EU policies in North Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf.” To support this initiative, NTU International is assembling a pool of qualified Non-Key Experts, including Junior Translators and Interpreters, to be engaged on an as-needed, short-term basis over a 36-month period.

The primary aim of this role is to offer strategic, technical, and logistical communication assistance to DG MENA. This involves contributing to the planning, creation, and execution of communication activities to enhance the recognition, outreach, and impact of the European Union's policies, initiatives, and partnerships throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and Gulf regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate communication materials, reports, publications, presentations, and other official documents accurately.
• Deliver interpretation services in various settings including meetings, workshops, conferences, webinars, and stakeholder consultations.
• Ensure all translations are linguistically precise, consistent, and culturally suitable.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing communication materials available in multiple languages.
• Work closely with communication teams to guarantee clear and effective communication with target audiences.
• Manage terminology to maintain uniformity across all project documentation.
• Support multilingual communication efforts during project-related events and outreach programs.

Qualification and Experience

• Degree in translation, interpretation, or an equivalent qualification.
• Native or near-native fluency in the target language and strong command of English as the source language.
• At least 2 years of general work experience in translation or interpretation.
• A minimum of 1 year of specialized experience working with communication or institutional content.
