Transformation Lead

About the Role and Team

The Transformation team at Ather Energy focuses on establishing a solid digital infrastructure by developing manufacturing systems and tools tailored for a greenfield factory. This includes integrating these systems with business workflows and organizational performance parameters, while continually identifying opportunities for digitalization on the shop floor to boost efficiency.

This position acts as a crucial liaison and advocate for digital transformation across various manufacturing sectors, working with stakeholders to gather needs, build business cases, and facilitate the smooth integration of digital manufacturing technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with digital and manufacturing teams including Vehicle Assembly Line, Quality, Warehousing, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management to understand requirements and provide digital solutions to operational challenges.
• Develop detailed business cases that justify the need for digitization and set priorities among stakeholder requests.
• Serve as a liaison and champion for stakeholder needs with the Information Systems team to ensure clarity and proper execution of solutions.
• Promote awareness and adoption of technology-driven improvements throughout the organization.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of stakeholder tools and coordinate efforts across both the IS and business platforms.
• Work with IS Delivery Owners to prioritize tech implementations based on analysis of costs, benefits, and project timelines.
• Help stakeholders clearly define process challenges and convert these into product requirements, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria for systems.
• Lead early phases of User Acceptance Testing on behalf of stakeholders, and support post-implementation adoption through training and ongoing assistance.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or quantitative field such as Engineering. An MBA from a top-tier business school is preferred.
• 7 to 12 years of relevant professional experience.

Essential Competencies

• Practical experience deploying digital manufacturing systems such as MES and SCADA, especially in two-wheeler or four-wheeler manufacturing settings including new facilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of business value chains encompassing manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and warehousing.
• Expertise in integrating MES with enterprise systems like SAP, PLM, and APS.
• Proficient in business process design and optimization through methodologies like Value Stream Mapping and VSDIA to translate challenges into system requirements.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP modules PP, MM, and QM in manufacturing contexts.
• Experience with Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing frameworks, and lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Capability in quantitative modeling to assess return on investment and business value.
• Hands-on involvement in shopfloor process improvements and digital tool integration within manufacturing operations.
