Role Overview
The Technical Officer plays a key role in managing the upkeep and efficient operation of an Army Camp's facilities. This position requires a proactive approach in maintaining infrastructure, addressing repairs, and ensuring safety compliance in a dynamic military setting.
Core Responsibilities
- Supervise the maintenance and operation of buildings, utilities, and other infrastructure to guarantee safety, functionality, and adherence to military standards.
- Create and enforce preventive maintenance plans for essential systems such as electrical, water, and HVAC to minimize breakdowns and extend asset life.
- Lead troubleshooting and repair tasks, coordinating efforts with contractors and internal personnel to resolve facility issues promptly.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Collaborate with senior officers and contractors to strategize and implement maintenance schedules while providing regular facility condition reports.
- Address emergency maintenance situations swiftly to prevent operational disruptions caused by incidents like power failures or structural damage.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a diploma in Facilities Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
- Have at least 2 years of relevant experience in facilities operation within FM service providers, factories, or property ownership contexts.
- Holding certificates such as FSM, ECO, or other facilities management and safety qualifications is advantageous.
