As the Supply Chain Lead, you will collaborate closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and international partners, playing a central role in establishing a comprehensive procurement and supply chain operation from scratch.

Your responsibilities will include identifying and sourcing New Zealand manufacturers, overseeing procurement activities, and facilitating international logistics, particularly between New Zealand and China. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on creating efficient processes, tackling challenges, and making a meaningful contribution within a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Forge and maintain strong partnerships with New Zealand-based suppliers, manufacturers, and OEM collaborators.
• Handle supplier inquiries, quotations, pricing negotiations, and procurement procedures.
• Coordinate production timelines and supervise supplier performance to guarantee timely deliveries.
• Support the entire export cycle, including freight management, shipping documentation preparation, and interaction with logistics service providers.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure efficient product movement between New Zealand and China.
• Assist with import/export paperwork and regulatory compliance in collaboration with appropriate agencies and partners.
• Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and overall supply chain activities, identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
• Contribute to the evolution and enhancement of supply chain processes as the business scales.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or sourcing within manufacturing, FMCG, or food production sectors.
• Familiarity working with New Zealand suppliers and manufacturing entities.
• Experience in international logistics and import/export functions, ideally involving China.
• Strong organizational abilities capable of juggling various priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills combined with effective stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach with the capacity to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of export compliance and regulatory documentation is advantageous.
• Understanding of trade relations between New Zealand and China.
• Mandarin language proficiency is a plus but not mandatory.
