Student Support Assistant - UAE Locations

Position Overview

We are urgently seeking energetic and dependable Student Support Assistants to join our client in the government sector across various locations in the UAE including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Al Ain, Ajman, and Khor Fakkan. The role involves providing essential classroom, behavioural, and physical support to Students of Determination, ensuring a secure, inclusive, and encouraging learning atmosphere that fosters academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Aid teachers in the execution of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Adapt instructional materials under supervision to meet diverse student requirements.
• Assist students with daily classroom tasks and lesson activities.
• Promote independent learning and active participation within the classroom.
• Accompany students during transitions such as class changes, breaks, and transport boarding.
• Support physical mobility and the use of adaptive tools and positioning.
• Provide assistance with personal care including hygiene and feeding when necessary.
• Maintain a safe environment by managing physical risks proactively.
• Apply approved behaviour management and positive intervention plans.
• Handle challenging behaviours calmly and patiently, employing de-escalation techniques.
• Encourage social engagement and friendship building among peers during school hours.
• Offer emotional support to enhance student confidence and self-esteem.
• Communicate effectively in English with teachers, therapists, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate daily with educational and special needs teams.
• Accurately document student progress, behavioural events, and daily successes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational qualification: At least a High School certificate or equivalent; higher academic degrees preferred.
• Prior experience: Minimum one year in a related role such as Shadow Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Caregiver, Nursery Assistant, or Special Needs Support worker.
• Language skills: Proficient English communication, both verbal and written.
• Health and fitness: Physically capable and medically fit to support students' mobility and safety.
• Personal attributes: Highly patient, empathetic, caring, and resilient.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly salary of 2500 AED.
