Job Overview
The Store Assistant role involves managing order processing and inventory oversight, ensuring smooth daily operations within the warehouse environment. This position supports supervisors with various operational duties, conducts inspections of incoming and outgoing equipment and materials, and handles the organization and storage of inventory using forklifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage order processing and maintain inventory control protocols
- Support supervisors in daily operational tasks and coordination
- Perform daily visual inspections on machines and materials being received or dispatched
- Coordinate with requesters to confirm orders, schedule deliveries, and maintain accurate records
- Operate forklift machinery to arrange and store stock efficiently
- Conduct monthly inventory stock takes with accuracy and timeliness
- Handle receiving, verifying, counting, and placing goods in their designated areas
- Assist with stock counting activities including cycle counts and annual stocktake
- Engage in sales of spare parts directly to customers
- Keep storage and workshop areas clean, orderly, and well-maintained
- Perform necessary data entry related to stock movement and inventory updates
Candidate Qualifications
- At least two years of relevant experience in order and inventory management
- Highly initiative-driven and focused on delivering results
- Basic proficiency with computer operations
- Ability to perform efficiently under high-pressure and fast-paced conditions
- Self-motivated with a capacity for independent work and rapid learning
- Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy in task execution
