About the Role
As a Sourcing Manager at FUSION Performance Group, you will spearhead the global sourcing strategy and manage relationships with a diverse range of hospitality suppliers, including venues, hotels, destination management companies, transportation, entertainment, and promotional product vendors. Your mission is to build a strategic supplier network that boosts client value, fosters innovation, supports operational excellence, and creates a competitive edge. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Account and Program Management, Operations, Finance, and Leadership to align sourcing decisions with client satisfaction and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and onboard venues, destinations, and suppliers to meet client goals and budget constraints.
- Establish and nurture lasting partnerships with preferred suppliers, becoming a trusted industry partner.
- Assess supplier capabilities, pricing, service quality, financial health, and overall performance.
- Maintain an extensive database of suppliers including preferred and backup options.
- Continuously explore new suppliers, emerging destinations, and innovative hospitality solutions to enhance offerings.
- Maximize benefits from hotel loyalty and supplier reward programs while ensuring compliance with policies and client agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics to enhance value and partnerships.
- Lead contract negotiations across multiple supplier categories securing favorable pricing, concessions, rebates, and contractual protections.
- Leverage aggregated buying power for cost savings and stronger supplier relationships.
- Review contracts thoroughly to minimize financial, legal, and operational risks, ensuring alignment with negotiated terms.
- Conduct destination research and source venues for domestic and international events, taking into account cultural and regulatory factors.
- Travel domestically and globally for site visits, meetings, and industry conferences to strengthen relationships and gain insights.
- Develop comprehensive sourcing policies, SOPs, and best practices to drive operational consistency and efficiency.
- Streamline procurement processes to reduce costs while holding suppliers accountable to service standards.
- Analyze and compare supplier quotes, prepare financial analyses and sourcing budgets to support decisions.
- Provide sourcing expertise in proposal development and strategic client engagements.
- Mentor team members on sourcing strategy, supplier management, and negotiation best practices.
- Stay updated on hospitality trends, supplier innovations, and global destination developments.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in venue sourcing, hotel contracting, hospitality procurement, or strategic sourcing.
- Proven track record in negotiating contracts within meetings, events, or travel industries.
- Background managing supplier relationships and sourcing strategies.
- Preferred experience supporting corporate meetings, incentives, and international events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Supply Chain Management, Event Management, or related field preferred.
- Strong negotiation and contract management expertise.
- Excellent business judgment balancing client satisfaction, profitability, and operational needs.
- Outstanding communication, relationship building, organization, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of handling multiple complex sourcing projects concurrently.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, resourceful, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Fluency with advanced Excel functions such as PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and dashboard creation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint; familiarity with Cvent, Monday.com, Slack, and Zoom is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of hospitality contracting, supplier management, and procurement best practices.
- Knowledge of global hospitality providers including hotels, resorts, DMCs, and entertainment.
- Understanding of corporate event operations and loyalty/reward program mechanics.
- Willingness to travel 25–40% domestically and internationally.
- Ability to maintain a dedicated remote workspace and manage collaboration across time zones.
