Software Development Manager - AWS Lambda Durable Functions

Overview

Join the AWS Lambda Durable Functions team as a Software Development Manager and lead a skilled group of software developers in advancing the largest serverless service at AWS. This team focuses on simplifying the creation of fault-tolerant applications and AI workflows through familiar programming languages by enhancing Lambda's event-driven programming model with key capabilities such as automatic checkpointing, failure recovery, and cost-effective wait/suspend operations. With strong customer adoption, the team is expanding to meet growing demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic direction and vision for the team.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience managing engineering teams.
• At least 7 years in software engineering roles.
• 8+ years leading design and development of multi-tier web services.
• Deep understanding of engineering best practices across software, hardware, and networks lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, version control, build processes, testing, certification, and production support.
• Proven ability to collaborate with product and program management teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong experience communicating effectively with customers, technical teams, and executive leadership to gather requirements, articulate software features, and define product strategies.
• Proficiency in hiring, mentoring, and coaching software engineering teams to enhance their skills and productivity.
