Job description
Overview
Join the AWS Lambda Durable Functions team as a Software Development Manager and lead a skilled group of software developers in advancing the largest serverless service at AWS. This team focuses on simplifying the creation of fault-tolerant applications and AI workflows through familiar programming languages by enhancing Lambda's event-driven programming model with key capabilities such as automatic checkpointing, failure recovery, and cost-effective wait/suspend operations. With strong customer adoption, the team is expanding to meet growing demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the strategic direction and vision for the team.
- Coordinate and align priorities among various stakeholders.
- Deliver software features that exceed customer expectations.
- Recruit, mentor, and cultivate top engineering talent.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing engineering teams.
- At least 7 years in software engineering roles.
- 8+ years leading design and development of multi-tier web services.
- Deep understanding of engineering best practices across software, hardware, and networks lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, version control, build processes, testing, certification, and production support.
- Proven ability to collaborate with product and program management teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience communicating effectively with customers, technical teams, and executive leadership to gather requirements, articulate software features, and define product strategies.
- Proficiency in hiring, mentoring, and coaching software engineering teams to enhance their skills and productivity.
