Position Overview
The Skip Trace Coordinator role entails organizing and executing various investigative methods to locate client debtors and collateral assets. All activities must comply with relevant laws and regulations, and uphold professionalism and integrity. Responsibilities primarily involve online investigative tools paired with proactive outreach through phone communication. Effective verbal and written reporting of contact efforts and outcomes is essential. This position reports directly to the Skip Trace Manager.
Key Duties
- Deploy various skip tracing techniques to find clients' debtors and collateral.
- Manage daily skip tracing tasks following departmental guidelines.
- Handle a large portfolio of accounts, consistently updating clients and PAR management.
- Research and evaluate new databases to improve investigative results.
- Maintain and oversee vendor contracts and relationships, assessing their effectiveness and making recommendations for improvements.
- Maintain a strong focus on accountability and achieving production targets.
- Provide investigative oversight and guidance to select PAR staff.
- Handle designated client accounts as assigned by leadership.
- Generate and deliver daily production reports to management as required.
- Develop productive partnerships with recovery vendors.
- Exemplify professionalism in all communications.
- Operate effectively both independently and collaboratively with an emphasis on productivity and accountability.
- Utilize excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Respond promptly to client and management communications.
- Perform additional duties as directed by senior PAR management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent mandatory.
- Preferred 1–3 years of proven experience in investigative skip tracing.
- Preferred 1–3 years’ experience in repossession or collections sectors.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Strong organizational capabilities and effective written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers, internet research, and basic knowledge of Google Apps.
- Knowledge of compliance with federal and state laws including MSDS, OSHA, EPA regulations.
- Strict adherence to privacy laws such as Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLB) and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
