Role Summary

We are seeking a Site Scheduler for our Westmead Biscuits facility. The successful candidate will be accountable for overseeing production planning operations, reducing work-in-progress (WIP), and ensuring production schedules are feasible and efficient to meet the master production schedule, while adhering to labour standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage production sequencing and plan stock build for components prior to packaging.
  • Monitor daily factory performance using Shop-ware MIS and coordinate with procurement and stores on material availability.
  • Calculate weekly production requirements based on sales forecasts and inventory data using Distribution and Materials Requirements Planning reports.
  • Analyze operational capacity constraints quarterly and optimize production scheduling for cost-effective manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare and finalize production plans post weekly planning meetings, incorporating trial and maintenance schedules.
  • Adjust production plans as necessary in response to material shortages, capacity issues, or breakdowns.
  • Manage labour utilization by planning staff assignments and shift scheduling to meet production demands effectively.
  • Oversee weekly inventory cycle counts, maintain appropriate stock levels, and engage with suppliers to manage orders and materials.
  • Control WIP through Shopware Kanban methodology and address potential bottlenecks to maintain optimum plant efficiency.
  • Ensure allergen control through production sequencing and collaboration with quality and warehouse teams.
  • Conduct regular reporting on production status, variances, and risks, providing insights during daily and monthly review meetings.
  • Participate in after-hours assistance for critical processes, including month-end activities and stock takes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a production planning role within the FMCG sector.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Shopware systems is mandatory.
  • National Diploma in Production Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
