Job Opportunity
We invite experienced Mechanical Engineers with strong mechanical skills to join our site-based Hydro team operating along the Waikato River. This role involves working across nine different hydro stations ranging from Taupo to Cambridge, contributing to the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of renewable hydro power assets alongside a motivated team of around 60 members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering technical support to maintenance and production teams, ensuring high equipment availability through current and future mechanical projects.
- Assist in developing and implementing a long-term asset management plan, including safety initiatives, enhancement projects, and mitigation of asset degradation risks.
- Analyze plant performance and contribute solutions to maximize long-term availability and capacity factor.
- Support the delivery of an effective portfolio of operational and capital projects for the sites.
- Ensure site adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and engineering standards.
Candidate Profile
- Degree-qualified engineer with substantial experience managing significant engineering or technical projects within heavy industry contexts, including plant and process design, HAZOPs, and commissioning.
- Preferably experienced in electricity generation, particularly hydroelectric or heavy industry sectors.
- Specialized knowledge in mechanical and maintenance engineering, including asset management expertise.
- Ability to work flexibly across stations, with locations including Taupo or Rotorua.
