About the Role
The Site Engineer will oversee construction activities involving roads, bridges, highways, and other infrastructure projects, ensuring tasks meet approved designs, technical standards, safety protocols, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily on-site construction processes relating to roads, bridges, highways, and infrastructure works.
- Examine approved blueprints, technical methods, and project specifications prior to starting activities.
- Supervise contractors to verify adherence to approved plans, quality norms, and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections on earthworks, excavation, subgrade preparation, asphalt and concrete work, drainage, utilities, and structural components.
- Collaborate with contractors, consultants, surveyors, inspectors, and other members of the project team.
- Compile daily and weekly progress reports documenting site activities.
- Identify and communicate any site challenges, delays, quality issues, or technical difficulties to the Project Manager.
- Validate completed work and measurements against project documents and drawings.
- Ensure materials employed comply strictly with approved quality and specification standards.
- Oversee inspection requests, approvals of materials, and implementation of corrective measures.
- Participate in site meetings and facilitate execution of agreed-upon actions.
- Keep detailed records, reports, inspection documents, and supporting site files.
- Confirm that construction milestones are achieved within the scheduled timeframe.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience specifically in roads, bridges, highways, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience in construction supervision and site management.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, drawings, and technical requirements.
- Knowledgeable in quality assurance, safety standards, and site inspection protocols.
- Effective communication, coordination, and documentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD software.
- Experience working in GCC countries or Saudi Arabia is advantageous.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers is preferred but not mandatory.
