Overview
Join MMD Construction in Cork as a Site Engineer and become part of a team dedicated to collaboration, innovation, and career progression. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site setting out, levelling, and surveying using Total Station, GPS, and associated tools to align with design specifications.
- Perform as-built surveys and maintain comprehensive survey records throughout project phases.
- Review and verify engineering drawings, specifications, and quantities, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Oversee construction activities ensuring adherence to project specs, quality standards, and engineering best practices.
- Monitor and inspect site work for compliance with design and quality control requirements.
- Maintain site documentation including records, inspection reports, and survey data.
- Generate timely engineering reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
- Assist in planning and coordinating site operations for efficient project delivery.
- Implement engineering solutions and construction methods onsite as necessary.
- Establish and maintain site control points, benchmarks, and levels to support construction activities.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders including managers, subcontractors, and design teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support preparation and management of RFIs, method statements, inspection test plans, and other engineering documents.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations and contribute actively to a safe working environment.
- Keep detailed site diaries documenting progress, resources, weather, and engineering matters.
- Perform additional engineering duties to support project success as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Between 1 to 3 years of relevant site engineering experience.
- Solid knowledge of construction methodologies, setting out techniques, and quality control.
- Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and work closely with site management teams.
- Competent in interpreting engineering and architectural drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Proficient with setting out equipment and site measurement methods.
- Thorough understanding of Irish Health & Safety legislation and the Construction Regulations 2013.
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software tools.
- Holds valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
