Senior Python Software Engineer - Remote Contract

Overview

We are offering an exciting contract role for a Senior Software Engineer to work remotely with YO AI Labs. In this position, you will contribute your expertise to train cutting-edge AI systems, influencing how these models learn, reason, and operate through real-world, high-quality data inputs. No previous AI experience is necessary, as your specific domain expertise is highly valued.

Responsibilities and Role Scope

• Develop, optimize and maintain software using Python3 and other languages such as Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
• Engage in feature development, refactor existing codebases, and troubleshoot complex software problems to deliver reliable solutions.
• Enhance software performance and scalability by applying advanced algorithmic and data structure knowledge.
• Collaborate effectively within cross-functional, often remote teams, communicating clearly and attentively.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Strong programming skills primarily in Python3, Java, Rust or TypeScript; proficiency in C++ or Go is an advantageous addition.
• In-depth expertise in algorithms, data structures, and software tuning to optimize performance.
• Experience with debugging challenging software issues and maintaining high-quality code.
• Proven ability to work in collaborative, cross-disciplinary teams, especially in remote environments.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.

Preferred Background

• Experience with large-scale distributed codebases.
• Familiarity with AI or machine learning frameworks and systems is a plus but not mandatory.
• Participation in code reviews and a commitment to software development best practices.
