Senior Project Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee intricate cross-functional engineering and operational enhancement initiatives within a tightly regulated manufacturing setting. This is a fixed-term contract lasting two years. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the introduction of new products, advancement of ongoing improvement activities, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve strategic business goals. This role demands ensuring that projects meet safety standards, adhere to schedules and budgets, and maintain superior quality while encouraging cooperation throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead several cross-departmental projects from inception to successful conclusion.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Health & Safety, HR, and other departments.
• Develop strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to align on project goals and priorities.
• Track project progress, highlight risks and opportunities, and apply effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Deliver consistent updates and reports to senior management, ensuring transparent communication regarding progress, challenges, and critical decisions.
• Lead initiatives aimed at operational excellence focusing on productivity, quality, delivery timelines, costs, and overall business results.
• Guide structured problem-solving and change management throughout project phases.
• Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and strategic business objectives.
• Promote and apply Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and other continuous improvement methods to optimize project execution and operational results.
• Manage project closure activities, including performance evaluation, capturing lessons learned, and realising benefits.
• Support broader PMO operations and provide leadership when needed within project management functions.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related fields.
• Minimum of 8 years managing complex engineering or operational projects within manufacturing or regulated industries.
• Proven track record in delivering projects related to new product launches, process enhancements, capital projects, or business transformations.
• Expertise in project planning, scheduling, budget management, and risk administration.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with capability to influence various levels of the organisation.
• Experience in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or similar continuous improvement techniques.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma are preferable.
