Senior Payroll Specialist

Summary

An established pharmaceutical company based in Cork is looking to hire a seasoned Payroll and HR Systems Specialist to join their human resources team on a permanent, full-time basis. This senior position involves a hands-on approach, combining expert payroll processing with management of HR systems, reporting, and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and verify the accuracy of weekly and monthly payroll runs, including correct processing of overtime, shift allowances, and other payroll elements.
• Maintain and update employee records within HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Time & Attendance platforms, ensuring reliable data throughout employee tenure.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for payroll and HR systems, resolving issues and supporting system upgrades and procedural enhancements.
• Generate detailed payroll and HR reports and reconciliations, identify any discrepancies, and implement corrective measures.
• Deliver exceptional service to employees and stakeholders by addressing queries related to payroll, payslips, and HR systems, collaborating with external payroll service providers as needed.

Requirements

• Extensive practical experience with Irish payroll, including managing complex weekly and hourly payrolls, preferably in manufacturing or similar fast-paced sectors.
• Proficient with payroll, HRIS, and Time & Attendance systems, with a quick adaptability to new technologies.
• Advanced skills in Excel, data reporting, and analysis, paired with a strong focus on system optimization and process improvements.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective communication capabilities suited for a senior specialist role.
