Job Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers within GovTech's GCC AWS cloud environment.
  • Deploy and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) in the GCC ecosystem.
  • Facilitate application migration from older platforms (RHEL, Solaris, AIX) to containerized and cloud-native solutions.
  • Execute server migrations ensuring compliance with GovTech's GCC security and governance standards.
  • Administer clustering technologies for Linux servers, virtual machines, and containers to maintain high availability.
  • Implement OS-level security enhancements, compliance audits, and hardening protocols.
  • Manage storage services including LVM, GFS, NFS, DNS, and automount; oversee Red Hat Satellite for repository and patch management.
  • Create automation scripts using Shell and Ansible; assist with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Monitor system health, perform root cause analyses of incidents, and coordinate incident response for GCC workloads.
  • Support middleware platforms such as Squid Proxy, SMTP servers, Splunk, Apache, and Tomcat servers.
  • Collaborate closely with GovTech, third-party vendors, and partner agencies to resolve issues and deploy system upgrades.

Candidate Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of Linux/Unix system administration experience, focused on RHEL.
  • Proven expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes deployment on AWS EKS and container security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience managing container lifecycle, scaling, logging, and monitoring.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in RHEL including patching and system upgrades.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Linux security auditing, hardening, and compliance, particularly IM8/GCC.
  • Experience with Linux clustering, virtualization technologies, and high availability architectures.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite management for patching and repositories.
  • Proficient in Shell scripting and Ansible automation tools; exposure to continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of AWS components such as EC2, VPC, IAM, Load Balancers, and EKS.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging platforms like Splunk, Prometheus, and ELK stack preferred.
  • Strong ability to analyze crash dumps and logs effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience operating GovTech GCC container workloads.
  • Certifications such as CKA/CKAD (Kubernetes), RHCE, Docker, AWS SysOps, or ITIL.
  • Experience with DevSecOps methodologies and cloud-native security frameworks.
  • Exposure to cloud migration and container modernization in government or regulated sectors.
