Description de l'emploi
Overview
We seek an experienced Senior Network Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) & Operations Engineer to join our team in Cork. This hands-on role bridges traditional network operations with modern NetDevOps and NetAIOps approaches, emphasizing automation and reliability to maintain high service availability in a hybrid environment. Successful candidates will leverage both networking expertise and automation prowess to minimize manual tasks and enhance network stability globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy network automation workflows using Infrastructure as Code to replace manual configuration and troubleshooting processes.
- Oversee security operations and edge health by managing Cisco ISE (Network Access Control), Palo Alto firewalls, and Zscaler platforms (ZIA/ZPA).
- Manage the lifecycle and performance of global wired networks and hybrid data centers, focusing on Cisco Catalyst 9000 series and Nexus switches.
- Use telemetry and API tools such as LogicMonitor, SolarWinds NCM, and ThousandEyes for proactive network monitoring and automated incident remediation.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex global network incidents, promoting an SRE culture including SLAs, SLOs, and blameless post-mortems.
- Participate in global operations involving 10-20% travel to support data centers and collaborate with international teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in network automation scripting languages including Python and Go, alongside automation frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, and Nornir.
- Experience in version control and CI/CD pipelines for network configuration management using tools like Git, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Strong background in enterprise-scale routing and switching, especially with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus devices and hybrid cloud connections (AWS, Azure, OCI).
- Proficient in security operations, particularly managing Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ISE systems.
- Dedicated to operational excellence, precise change management, and automating repetitive network tasks.
Preferred Industry Certifications
- Cisco Certified DevNet Professional or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (automation and SRE focused).
- Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Data Center certifications (core infrastructure knowledge).
- Highly valued experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code over traditional certifications like CCIE.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or certifications in Zscaler administration (ZIA/ZPA).
Additional Advantages
- Familiarity with Cisco ACI, Network Access Control, or SD-WAN (vManage).
- Experience managing F5 or VMware AVI load balancers.
- Background working in manufacturing network environments.
Experience and Education
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in network engineering or operations is typically required.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation package is competitive and tailored to the candidate's location, education, and experience. Benefits generally include health and life insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, various leave options, performance bonuses, stock purchase programs, and restricted stock units, subject to regional differences and applicable laws. Further details will be provided during recruitment.
Work Environment
This role operates within a hybrid working model designed to foster collaboration and culture. Candidates should expect some in-office or in-person responsibilities.
