About STARLIMS and Role Overview
STARLIMS is a private equity-backed enterprise software firm poised for significant growth, refining its platform offerings, escalating go-to-market efforts, and developing leadership capabilities to support its next expansion phase.
The Senior Manager, Strategic Programs acts as a critical strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This role focuses on execution rather than assistance, converting strategic initiatives into actionable plans, directing cross-functional projects to completion, and ensuring leadership decisions translate into tangible results. The position offers direct engagement with company strategy, board reporting, and insight into the operations of a scaling enterprise software firm. Initially, this is an individual contributor position with opportunities to advance towards Chief of Staff or other functional branches within STARLIMS.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the rhythm of ELT meetings, including townhalls, offsites, and annual planning by preparing agendas, materials, and tracking follow-ups and action items rigorously.
- Drive fulfillment of CEO and company-wide priorities through hands-on coordination and persistent follow-through.
- Create and implement a standardized quarterly business review (QBR) process across all functions to ensure regular and aligned reviews tied to company objectives.
- Oversee coordination and preparation of board and related meeting logistics and materials ensuring reliable delivery.
- Collaborate with CEO and ELT to translate high-level strategic priorities into detailed, assigned action plans with clear deadlines.
- Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives like product launches, mergers and acquisitions integration, and go-to-market programs from initiation to completion.
- Monitor progress towards corporate goals, surface potential risks and dependencies, and highlight matters requiring executive attention.
- Develop and implement an Objectives and Key Results (OKR) system spanning from company-wide to functional levels, fostering adoption across leadership.
- Establish systems and reporting structures that enhance leadership’s visibility into priorities, commitments, and decision-making, boosting meeting outcomes and accountability.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve execution speed across teams.
Success Indicators in First 6-12 Months
- Establish a predictable, effective operational cadence for ELT forums and planning events with comprehensive agenda setting, preparation, and tracking until completion.
- Roll out and gain company-wide adoption of a uniform QBR process connecting all functional reviews to overarching company targets.
- Deliver board meeting materials with consistent, expedited turnaround times earning CEO's trust.
- Ensure CEO’s highest priorities are met consistently, supported by a centralized priority tracker regularly reviewed by the ELT.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategy, business operations, program management, or consulting, preferably within SaaS or fast-growing tech environments.
- Proven success in leading cross-functional programs yielding measurable results rather than just administering coordination.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to thoroughness and closure of all assignments and commitments.
- Strong structural thinking skills able to dissect broad objectives into concrete workstreams with designated owners and schedules.
- High initiative and persistence with self-direction, resourcefulness, and accountability to deliver outcomes independently.
- Excellent executive communication and relationship management skills, adept at preparing board-quality materials and collaborating with diverse leadership personalities.
- Sound judgment regarding confidentiality and escalation, with the ability to operate autonomously.
- Bachelor’s degree required; comfort working in situations with ambiguity and evolving role definition.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent advanced education credentials.
- Background in regulated industries, scientific sectors, or vertical SaaS applicable to STARLIMS’ clientele.
- Proficiency in using modern productivity tools, data analytics, and AI technologies responsibly and discerningly.
