Role Overview

This fully remote position is available for candidates based in the UK, Ireland, Germany, or the Netherlands. The Senior Manager of Business Development will lead the regional Business Development Representative (BDR) team, handling recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring to ensure team success. This role collaborates closely with the sales division to increase pipeline and deliver results, reporting to the Director of Business Development (EMEA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor the BDR team in identifying and engaging prospects to develop qualified sales opportunities.
  • Conduct regular coaching and feedback sessions to enhance team members' skills and performance.
  • Plan and execute hiring and onboarding processes for new BDRs.
  • Coordinate with Events and Digital teams to support field events and run targeted advertising and nurturing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Sales Development Leadership to optimize opportunity handling and qualification workflows.
  • Partner with Senior SDR Managers, Directors, and Regional Sales Directors to pinpoint and develop key accounts.
  • Work alongside Content, Marketing Program Managers, and Product Marketing to craft impactful messaging for outbound outreach aligned with assigned accounts.

Qualifications

  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Minimum two years of experience managing Business Development teams.
  • Background in sales, marketing, or customer service for technical products; leadership experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Experience with sales operations or marketing automation platforms is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of B2B software, open-source technologies, and developer tools is preferred.
  • Strong enthusiasm for technology and eagerness to learn GitLab and Git.
