About the Role

Rithwik Projects Private Limited, a prominent infrastructure and construction firm since 1999 specializing in Hydro, Power, Dams, Solar, Tunnels, Irrigation, Bridges, and Roads projects, is in search of a seasoned and certified Blasting Manager to oversee drilling and blasting activities within an open-cast coal mining project. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that blasting operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in line with all regulations, optimizing productivity while minimizing environmental and safety hazards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily blasting operations with mine production teams.
  • Oversee drilling patterns, hole charging, stemming, and detonation following the mine plan.
  • Enforce rigorous compliance with safety standards, DGMS guidelines, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage the handling, storage, and upkeep of explosives as per the Explosives Act and associated rules.
  • Keep detailed records of explosive usage, blast designs, vibration monitoring, and post-blast assessments.
  • Conduct risk evaluations, investigate misfires, and introduce preventive strategies.
  • Engage with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of explosives.
  • Provide training to site personnel on safe blasting methods and emergency protocols.
  • Coordinate inspections and audits with regulatory bodies such as DGMS and PESO.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering.
  • Possession of a valid First Class or Second Class Managers Certificate of Competency (Coal) from DGMS.
  • Blaster's License with expertise in controlled and advanced blasting techniques.
  • At least 10 years of practical experience managing blasting operations in large open-cast coal mines.
  • Proficient in blast design software and vibration analysis tools.
  • Experience with high-capacity coal mines of 5 million tons per annum (MTPA) or more.
