Senior Data Architect

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Architect with extensive expertise in Data Architecture and Artificial Intelligence to lead and govern the enterprise data architecture framework that supports analytics and AI initiatives within our organization located in Doha, Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the enterprise-wide Data Architecture framework to support Data Analytics and AI projects.
• Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that reflect the needs of business, analytics, and AI functions.
• Review data architecture designs, data flows, lineage, and integration approaches to ensure alignment with governance, quality, security, and privacy standards.
• Analyze AI use cases from a technical standpoint focusing on data sourcing, integration scalability, performance, and conformity with the target architecture.
• Develop and uphold technical controls for Responsible AI, including methodologies for data validation, bias detection, explainability, traceability, and continuous monitoring.
• Evaluate vendor solutions against enterprise architecture requirements, integration capabilities, security, and performance benchmarks.
• Conduct data-focused assessments of third-party solutions to ensure adherence to data protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Review Business Requirements Specifications, solution designs, and Post-Implementation Reviews through a data architecture lens.
• Govern data integration mechanisms such as ETL/ELT, APIs, streaming, and batch processes across enterprise systems.
• Support and engage in regulatory compliance activities, audit processes, and architecture governance meetings.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Data Governance, AI Governance, Responsible AI practices, and architecture review forums.

Required Experience and Skills

• A minimum of 7 to 10 years in Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Management, Data Engineering, or a related area, with preference for experience in banking or financial services sectors.
• Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture principles including data modeling, integration, and governance frameworks.
• Proficient with modern data platforms including data warehouses, lakehouses, ETL/ELT frameworks, and analytics systems.
• Familiarity with AI/ML data ecosystems, AI data needs, and Responsible AI principles.
• Experience in reviewing architectures spanning on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployments.
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and data regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, architectural design capabilities, and stakeholder management skills.
• Exposure to banking and financial domains within the GCC, especially Qatar, is highly preferred.
• Relevant certifications like TOGAF, DAMA, CDMP, or Cloud Architecture credentials are an advantage.

Evaluation and Additional Information

• Candidates will be assessed based on the relevance and depth of their experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Management, and Data Engineering.
• Evaluation includes competencies in enterprise-scale data platform design, integration frameworks, and governance disciplines such as Data Governance and Metadata Management.
• Knowledge and experience in AI/ML ecosystems, Responsible AI controls, and governance frameworks will be considered.
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior banking/financial service experience in Qatar or the wider GCC.
• The role requires collaboration with diverse stakeholders across technology, business, risk, compliance, and governance functions.
• The position is urgent, with immediate support required for ongoing projects.
