Role Overview

The Senior Buyer is accountable for comprehensive procurement execution focused on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, emphasizing consistent delivery aligned with project timelines and specifications. Strategic supplier relationships and category development are guided by the Sourcing and Category Managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the processes of Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Develop and sustain strong partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and system integrators.
• Collaborate closely with engineering departments to ensure procurement aligns with all technical specifications.
• Oversee supplier performance, delivery schedules, identify supply chain risks, and address them proactively.
• Keep abreast of market trends related to utility and electrical products, pricing dynamics, and changes in the supplier landscape.
• Actively manage procurement timelines including expediting orders, handling changes, and implementing recovery plans.

Qualifications and Competencies

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Proven experience handling large integrated electrical equipment procurement.
• Background in project-driven procurement environments.
• Strong analytical capabilities with keen attention to detail.
• Comfort and adaptability working in a dynamic, rapidly growing organization.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/procurement systems like Procure and NetSuite.

Preferred Educational and Sector Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years’ procurement experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Familiarity with large-scale utility and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy projects.
• Knowledge of standards such as UL, IEC, and IEEE relevant to BESS equipment.
