About the Role
Drake New Zealand is partnering with a highly regarded Chartered Accounting firm based in Matamata, Waikato, known for exceptional client service and trusted advisory relationships across rural, commercial, and family-owned businesses. Due to their sustained growth and growing advisory demand, they are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee your own portfolio of rural, commercial, and family business clients.
- Prepare annual financial statements, tax returns, and complete compliance duties.
- Deliver proactive accounting, taxation, and business advisory guidance.
- Support clients with budgeting, cash flow forecasts, and management reporting.
- Identify risks, uncover improvement opportunities, and offer business insights.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships through effective communication.
- Mentor junior accounting staff to foster professional growth.
- Collaborate with Managers and Partners on advisory projects and strategic initiatives.
- Advocate for process enhancements and best practices within the firm.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous public practice accounting experience at the Senior Accountant level.
- Thorough understanding of New Zealand accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or actively pursuing CA accreditation preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with effective time management capabilities.
- A proactive, client-centered mindset with enthusiasm for advisory services.
