Job description
Role Summary
We seek an experienced SAS Platform Developer & Application Support Engineer to join our team in Saudi Arabia. This role encompasses SAS development, platform management, application support, and troubleshooting production environments on SAS 8.4 analytics platform. Candidates should be adept at maintaining, optimizing, and supporting SAS infrastructure and working closely with data scientists, risk analysts, and end users.
Responsibilities
- Daily monitoring of SAS 8.4 platform, including applications, jobs, and server performance.
- Resolving SAS job failures, data processing errors, connectivity issues, and financial data discrepancies.
- Investigating logs to diagnose and fix technical problems.
- Delivering Level 2/3 support to technical and business stakeholders.
- Administering SAS users, roles, permissions, and environment setups.
- Maintaining SAS environments for development, testing, and production.
- Collaborating with infrastructure, database, application, and vendor teams for issue resolution.
- Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures for recurring issues.
- Managing application deployments, batch processes, and production releases to ensure platform stability and performance.
- Developing, testing, and maintaining SAS programs, macros, ETL workflows, and analytical data models.
- Optimizing and modernizing legacy SAS code for better scalability and speed.
- Creating reusable SAS components and automating repetitive tasks.
- Performing data validation and reconciliation to ensure financial data integrity.
- Automating data processing and operational workflows using Unix/Linux shell scripts and scheduling tools.
- Monitoring job schedules and proactively handling failures.
- Supporting incident resolution promptly for SAS applications and batch jobs.
- Investigating data issues arising from multiple sources and conducting impact analysis for stakeholders.
- Maintaining updated technical documentation and troubleshooting guides.
- Participating in critical incident support as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3 to 5 years practical experience in SAS development and/or platform support.
- Strong expertise with SAS 8.4 architecture, tools, and environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Base SAS, SAS Macro Language, PROC SQL, SAS Data Step programming, and SAS dataset handling.
- Proficient in SQL querying and database concepts including joins, subqueries, and query optimization.
- Experience in Unix/Linux environments with shell scripting capabilities.
- Familiarity with job scheduling, batch processing, and monitoring within SAS.
- Strong problem-solving skills in application support, incident management, and log analysis.
- Experience in financial or banking sectors, particularly credit risk, loan portfolio, or financial data management is highly desired.
