Role Overview
As a Sales Engineer at DataHub, you will play a pivotal role in the sales process of this innovative SaaS product. Your responsibility will be to provide both technical expertise and consultative support to potential and existing clients, aiding the sales and customer success teams. You will demonstrate the product’s capabilities and value, facilitate qualifying prospects, and translate complex technical details for audiences of varying expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with account executives to secure new customers from initial contact to closing
- Establish and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customer stakeholders and executives
- Engage prospects to identify their needs and gather detailed requirements
- Assist sales teams in qualifying potential clients effectively
- Create and deliver tailored demonstrations and presentations based on customer-specific demands
- Define success criteria for proof of concept implementations
- Provide thorough product education covering implementation, usability, security, and compliance
- Coordinate internal cross-functional resources to support deal completion
- Keep abreast of industry trends and perform competitive market analysis
- Collect customer feedback and collaborate with the product team to guide enhancements aligned with client needs
- Facilitate smooth transitions from pre-sales engagements to post-sales customer success support
Candidate Profile
- At least 5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, ideally in a B2B SaaS or open-source software environment
- Solid technical foundation including software development, databases, networking, and cloud computing
- Proven experience showcasing software solutions to enterprise clientele
- Excellent communication skills enabling articulation of complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders
- Motivated team player eager to contribute to a growing sales team
- Self-driven with strong ownership and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships understanding client business challenges and requirements
- Experience or familiarity with open-source software communities is advantageous
