About the Role

We are seeking a Risk Specialist to join the Risk & Audit team at TasNetworks in Hobart, Tasmania. This permanent, full-time position offers a base salary starting at $125,837 per year plus superannuation, with a total package negotiable depending on skills and experience. The team supports effective risk management across the organisation to enhance resilience and support strategic objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to enhance enterprise risk management and support sound decision-making.
  • Lead enterprise risk assessments, facilitate workshops, and guide discussions to identify and manage risks.
  • Assist with the development and ongoing improvement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework to elevate organisational risk maturity.
  • Coordinate business continuity and resilience efforts, including impact analysis, planning, testing, and exercises.
  • Track emerging risks, industry trends, and environmental changes to offer insights supporting resilience and strategic planning.
  • Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and briefings for executive leadership, boards, and governance committees highlighting key risks and opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships across departments, promoting a positive risk culture and embedding robust risk practices.
  • Contribute to the review and development of risk policies and governance to ensure alignment with organisational goals.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in enterprise risk management, including framework implementation and continuous improvement of governance practices.
  • Demonstrated success in advancing organisational risk maturity by partnering with business leaders.
  • Skilled at designing and leading risk workshops, assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledgeable in business continuity management, organisational resilience, and continuity planning.
  • Adept at monitoring emerging risks and environmental factors, interpreting complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experienced in preparing concise, high-quality reports and presentations for senior leadership and committees.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and foster a positive risk culture across diverse teams.
  • Possesses tertiary qualifications in business, risk management, governance, commerce or related fields, or substantial relevant experience.
