Restaurant Utility Worker

About the role

Zaxbys is looking to add a Restaurant Utility Worker to the team in Canton, GA. This position focuses on keeping the restaurant clean, safe, and functioning well through routine upkeep, deep cleaning, and basic equipment maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Complete all required training assigned by Zax LLC.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and orderly restaurant environment.
• Handle scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks as well as basic maintenance work.
• Carry out routine cleaning and preventive upkeep on restaurant equipment.
• Inspect, test, and operate equipment to identify issues or breakdowns.
• Take care of minor lighting repairs and similar small fixes.
• Perform deep-cleaning tasks, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Read and follow equipment manuals, work orders, safety instructions, and procedure documents.
• Regularly check grounds, plumbing, electrical outlets and fixtures, kitchen equipment, and the building for preventive maintenance needs.
• Make simple repairs when needed.
• Maintain neat, accurate, and up-to-date maintenance records.
• Follow operational standards, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements from Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC.
• Work in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and guidelines.
• Show flexibility and be willing to support work beyond the core duties of the role when needed.
• Report human resources and risk management concerns promptly to the General Manager and District Manager.
• Raise additional issues to the supervisor when appropriate.
• Handle other tasks needed to keep restaurant operations running smoothly.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• For full-time availability, the schedule must cover 32 to 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to work flexibly across days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Leadership qualities, strong organization, and the ability to work well with others are required.

Working conditions and physical requirements

This role requires frequent movement and hands-on work throughout the day. Team members must be able to sit, stand, and walk continuously; occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, climb, and use ladders; and frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting. The job also involves continuous use of the hands and wrists for grasping and fine motor tasks, clear communication through speech, reading, and writing, and strong visual and audio awareness to respond to the environment.

Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to hot and cold temperatures as well as food and outdoor allergens. The position may require safe use of restaurant equipment, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools or machinery.
