Mercor, a San Francisco-based company backed by top-tier investors such as Benchmark and General Catalyst, links top creative and technical professionals with prominent AI research laboratories. They are seeking a generalist research specialist to work remotely on a contract basis.

Job Details

Position Type: Contract
Work Commitment: 10 to 20 hours weekly
Compensation: $50 to $60 per hour
Location: Fully remote, United States

Role Responsibilities

Formulate detailed and precise research questions, answers, and evaluation content aimed at training sophisticated language models.
Analyze and assess AI model performance methodically to enhance outcomes.
Work independently and asynchronously with flexible scheduling to achieve project objectives.
Collect and concisely synthesize data from multiple sources to aid AI training.
Deliver structured and clear feedback to AI research teams to refine training datasets.

Required Qualifications

Must use a MacBook equipped with an M-series chip.
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's program, or possess 2 to 3 years of relevant experience alongside a Bachelor's degree from a respected institution.
Strong skills in conducting online research and effective communication.
Proven ability to compile and lucidly summarize information from various sources.
Excellent proficiency in written communication.

Preferred Qualifications

Possession of an interdisciplinary academic background.
