Role Overview
Iora Ecological Solutions seeks motivated and industrious individuals with a solid foundation in climate change adaptation and mitigation to join their Nature and Climate Resilience team in Delhi. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a range of projects encompassing policy development, capacity building, vulnerability assessments, greenhouse gas accounting, climate finance, and monitoring and evaluation. This role combines both office-based responsibilities and fieldwork, requiring engagement with diverse stakeholders to translate scientific insights into actionable low-carbon development strategies focused on enhancing resilience across communities, businesses, and the broader economy.
Key Duties
- Assist with the execution of current projects by conducting research and analyses aligned with project goals.
- Generate project-related deliverables such as reports, presentations, and briefs.
- Manage ongoing project activities through effective stakeholder coordination and monitoring of deadlines and outputs.
- Perform fieldwork as necessary for data collection and stakeholder interactions.
- Support the growth and promotion of IORA's project portfolio by formulating novel concepts and funding proposals targeting new donor and private sector collaborations.
- Create various communication outputs including policy briefs, academic articles, news updates, impact narratives, and blogs to enhance public awareness and outreach.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Master’s degree in Climate Science, Public Policy, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development, or a related field from a recognized university.
- 1 to 2 years of professional experience post-Master’s, preferably with projects focused on climate change adaptation, mitigation, resilience, and climate finance; experience spanning multiple sectors is advantageous.
- Familiarity with national and international climate policy developments, climate change modeling, vulnerability assessments, statistical and socio-economic analyses, nature-based solutions, implementation strategies, and climate finance mechanisms.
- Experience conducting fieldwork is desirable.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong research aptitude and analytical capabilities, coupled with innovative problem-solving and the ability to rapidly synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Competence in proposal writing, technical documentation, and delivering presentations; a credible publication record will be considered a plus.
- Ability to multitask effectively and collaborate within a team environment.
