Role Overview
This full-time Reporter position is based in Dubai and offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining onsite presence with remote work flexibility. The reporting duties involve investigating, researching, and composing news articles, features, and reports about university events, academic progress, and broader educational topics. Responsibilities include attending events, interviewing sources, verifying accuracy, and crafting engaging, clear content suitable for digital and print formats. The role also requires working alongside editors and communication teams, contributing to multimedia content like photos and short videos, while maintaining journalistic principles and adhering to institutional policies. The Reporter helps sustain a consistent editorial style and ensures timely coverage of significant news and community updates.
Key Qualifications
- Proficient reporting and news writing capabilities, adept at collecting information, verifying credibility, and producing precise, concise stories.
- Strong communication and writing skills, including interview techniques, story pitching, and tone adaptation for varying audiences.
- Basic multimedia abilities, including photo, audio, or video clip management to enhance digital narratives.
- Relevant professional experience in journalism, communications, or media, preferably related to education or international environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a comparable discipline; equivalent professional experience accepted.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of meeting deadlines in a hybrid working setting.
- Knowledge of journalistic ethics, fact-checking protocols, and responsible reporting standards.
- Fluent in English; fluency in additional languages like Mandarin or Arabic is considered a plus.
