Role Overview

The position of Reporter at Insight Infusion Limited is a full-time on-site job located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Reporter is tasked with identifying significant stories, conducting interviews, fact-gathering, and creating clear, precise, and captivating news articles across multiple platforms.

Key Duties

• Attending events and press briefings to collect information.
• Verifying facts and developing compelling story angles.
• Collaborating with editors, photographers, and multimedia teams to produce cohesive content.
• Supporting multimedia storytelling by assisting with video, audio, and digital features.
• Ensuring all published content aligns with editorial guidelines and journalistic ethics.
• Working within stringent deadlines while maintaining strong connections with sources and the community.
• Keeping up to date with local and regional news developments.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven skills in reporting and news writing to gather information and craft engaging, precise articles.
• Exceptional communication and writing abilities for conducting interviews and clear content creation.
• Basic multimedia skills including familiarity with video editing, audio production, or online publishing tools.
• Strong research capabilities, critical thinking, attention to detail, and accuracy in fact-checking.
• A solid understanding of journalistic ethics emphasizing fairness, balance, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work on-site in Nairobi County and manage tight deadlines while cooperating effectively within a newsroom environment.
• Educational qualification preferably a diploma or degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related area.
• Previous experience in newsroom settings or reporting is advantageous.
• Fluency in English, and familiarity with local languages and the Kenyan media environment is beneficial.
