Description de l'emploi
Role Overview
This is a hands-on Quality Inspector position based in Poole within a busy engineering and manufacturing setting. The role is ideal for someone with prior inspection experience, or for a manufacturing professional who wants to grow into a quality-focused career. The employer will provide full training on its internal systems and working methods.
What You’ll Do
You will help ensure products consistently meet required standards across the production cycle. The job involves checking items during different stages of manufacture, spotting defects early, and supporting smooth output across the factory.
- Perform incoming goods checks, in-process inspections, and final product inspections.
- Examine manufactured parts to confirm they match the required specifications.
- Detect, document, and escalate non-conforming products.
- Enter inspection records and transactions into the company MRP software.
- Assist with corrective actions and broader quality improvement work.
- Receive subcontracted components and complete the relevant inspection steps.
- Organise or help with minor rework when needed.
- Flag quality concerns early so production timelines stay on track.
- Work in coordination with production and quality colleagues to reduce disruption and uphold standards.
What the Employer Is Looking For
The preferred candidate will have experience in manufacturing or engineering and some exposure to inspection work. Being able to interpret engineering drawings is helpful, and familiarity with tools such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges is an advantage. A careful, structured approach, good communication, and strong organisation are all important for success in this role. Prior use of MRP or ERP systems would be useful, though it is not required.
Offer and Working Setup
This is a permanent, full-time, on-site role in Poole. The hourly pay is between £14.50 and £15.00, and the package includes competitive benefits. The business offers a supportive team environment, stable employment, and the chance to strengthen your quality inspection skills through training and day-to-day experience.
