About the Role

We are inviting applications for the permanent position of Quality Control Operator based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This role supports maintaining top quality across production processes by ensuring compliance with product specifications through material monitoring and testing at various production stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and document samples routinely to confirm process accuracy and support quality assurance in line with JTI's QA Manual, Quality Plan, and Process Control standards involving physical measurements and visual inspections.
  • Provide punctual quality feedback reports at shift completion to Quality and Manufacturing technical teams to facilitate timely corrective and preventive measures.
  • Investigate any deviations from quality standards by conducting initial problem solving and adhere to Local Integrated Management System and JTI Quality Management System protocols.
  • Manage the Change Over process during production starts, pre-production, and prototype phases to prevent non-target material production (NTM) and blend errors, collaborating closely with supervisors and technicians.
  • Ensure all quality control instruments are operational and properly calibrated following instrument manuals and organizational procedures; report any malfunctioning equipment and verify product quality post-maintenance.
  • Inspect incoming materials thoroughly before use in production cycles.
  • Conduct Quality Behaviour Observations and engage in constructive dialogue to uphold consistent product quality according to JTI standards.
  • Carry out data collection, record keeping, analysis, and timely reporting for assigned projects such as New Product Development, process control, machine qualification, and equipment calibration using designated QC databases.
  • Maintain personal and collective health and safety standards within the workplace environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Chemistry and Biology, Laboratory Technology, or an equivalent field.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili languages.
  • Minimum of two years work experience in a related role.
  • Basic proficiency with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Access.
