Role Overview
We are expanding our Scientific In-sourcing team and seek an experienced QC Analyst to perform pharmaceutical substance testing, including raw materials and drug substances, within a GMP regulated environment. This role primarily focuses on Gas Chromatography (GC) and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analyses along with other required analytical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete training provided by SGS and clients to achieve qualification in relevant analytical techniques, maintaining current proficiency and mentoring other analysts as qualified.
- Perform testing adhering strictly to valid procedures and regulatory GMP standards.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure scheduled calibrations are completed.
- Manage inventory and track materials necessary for analysis.
- When qualified, verify and review results for regulatory compliance.
- Accurately enter data into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Evaluate testing results and finalize batch analyses.
- Meet all target deadlines, update project tracking tools, and communicate testing progress in meetings.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and uphold high housekeeping standards.
- Ensure lab records are accurate and work is completed correctly on the first attempt and timely.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), methods, and reports.
- Collaborate with team members to exceed customer expectations and support key performance indicators related to investigations, training, productivity, and punctual testing.
- Notify appropriate contacts and document any atypical or aberrant results along with investigations.
- Lead laboratory investigations and deviations if required.
- Maintain a safe working environment prepared for audits.
- Identify and implement improvements in safety, environment, quality, and service.
- Work with supervisors on personal development and career progression.
Qualifications and Experience
- Science degree in Chemistry or equivalent Level 7 scientific education.
- Minimum of two years' experience working in a GMP laboratory environment; GMP experience is mandatory.
- Proven knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Data Integrity, and analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer titration, Infrared spectroscopy, Particle Size Distribution, X-ray, and wet chemistry.
- Strong organizational abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player with flexibility to adapt to evolving requirements and a customer-focused mindset.
- Commitment to high standards in quality and safety.
- Competency with laboratory computer systems including LIMS and Trackwise.
