About the Role

Join the dynamic Quality Control Department at a leading pharmaceutical company in Little Island, Cork, for a 12-month, full-time contract requiring 39 hours per week on-site. This role involves executing key testing procedures, maintaining equipment and lab utilities in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and contributing to quality assurance efforts within the Micro Lab business area.

Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in QC group activities including material release, scheduling, KPI monitoring, training, documentation review, and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Perform equipment and lab utility tasks alongside testing activities as per GMP standards.
  • Conduct standard laboratory maintenance and sustain routine testing procedures such as Water/Bioburden, Sterility testing in isolators, and Endotoxin testing using the KTA reader.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient completion of all QC testing activities.
  • Adhere strictly to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and deliver department goals.
  • Assist in internal and external site audits as required.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge regarding analytical methods, technological advancements, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and compliance aligned with the company’s Credo.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a third-level degree in a scientific or pharmaceutical field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a quality or compliance role within the pharmaceutical industry; ideally 2 to 3 years (graduates without this experience will not be considered).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate well with teams and individual colleagues.
  • Responsible and accountable for accurate, compliant execution of tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Innovative mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate integrity and commitment to company values and ethical standards.

Compensation and Contract Details

This is a full-time, onsite contract position lasting 12 months, offering a very competitive hourly wage.
